We learned about Gases in the Cafeteria (what happens inside a balloon?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvvoxF-HkKQ

Part of Algebra in the Cafeteria is creating interesting lessons.

Look at what my students did with balloons

We wanted to find out or show what we know about gases.

What happens when a gas gets hotter?  The molecules move faster and they push the balloon OUT.

When the molecules get colder, they move slower and the balloon shrinks.  Temperature reduces the volume.

Then we went to the Freezer in the Cafeteria.

Many thanks to Maya in the Cafeteria and Mr. Katz and Ms. Murtha for getting the keys to the freezer.
